[Sponsored] Celebrating Coffee Bean's 50th Anniversary with Trio of Tea Cappuccinos!
Hi lovelies!
Did you guys know that this year marks The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf 's 50th Anniversary?

Happy Anniversary!

To celebrate this milestone, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf released a Trio of Tea Cappuccinos.

Are you ready for a Frothy Revolution with:

1. Chai Tea Cappuccino [SGD $6/cup]

2. Anniversary Tea Blend [SGD $6/cup]

3. Scottish Breakfast [SGD $6/cup]

Of the 3 new releases, I've only heard of Chai; not even Chai Tea Cappuccino but Chai Latte. Thanks to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Singapore, I was given the chance to try all 3 drinks!

I headed over to the outlet at Paragon after the Shunji Matsuo event together with Tsuriki and Yijing and ordered all 3 for us to share. Out of the 3 drinks, I felt that 2 of them are of an acquired taste.

Firstly, the Chai Tea Cappuccino

I've never tried any drink with Chai. This is one of the 2 that I've mentioned about needing an acquired taste to enjoy. Yijing mentioned it tasted like the sauce of braised meat, like the cloves. In my opinion, it does indeed have a fairly strong taste of spices because, well, Chai is made by brewing black tea with indian herbs and spices.

Next is their Anniversary Blend Tea

Not that I intended for this to be in any order but this is the other drink that I felt was of an acquired taste. I've never been a huge fan of floral tea so I did not really find it to my liking but Yijing thought it tasted decent and Tsuriki also did not have complains about it and I do know that Tsuriki does drink floral teas [she actually likes going to Coffee Bean for their tea] so I'm going to go ahead and tell you floral tea lovers to give this a try.

Finally, Scottish Breakfast

This was my favourite. I am no tea connoisseur so it actually tasted pretty close to English breakfast in my opinion; the tea tasted a tad stronger for Scottish Breakfast. English Breakfast has always been one of my favourite teas so Scottish Breakfast definitely made my taste buds happy.

These 3 Tea Cappuccinos are only available until 25th May 2013 so if you want to try them, stop hesitating before they are off the menu!

On a totally unrelated note, I've heard many good reviews for their breakfast from Beanstro by The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, I can't wait to go try it soon!

Finally, I am going to end this with a great piece of information for you which cannot be any timelier:
You can actually buy cakes from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Singapore website!
How cool is that?
Of course, there are many more things you can purchase online too, like their CBTL System that started in 2010.Now go perk yourself up with a cup already!

Now go perk yourself up with a cup already!

Mini Kit Kat Review so far
Good morning!
it's 14:31 now though (笑)
とにがく、
if you follow my Instagram, you will know that I have already opened my Kit kats and tastes quite a few of them!

I've tried Uji Maccha, Sweet Potato, Azuki Sandwich, Shinshu Apple and Wa Ichigo so far. Therefore, I will give you guys a tiny insight to what I think about them right now while lazing on my bed.

I loved all of them except the Shinshu apple; felt that it tasted a bit below my expectations but then again, I don't know how Shinshu apple taste like so it might just be me and my over familiarity with the commoner's apple I always eat. I definitely will try it again soon and see how it taste. Oh, this is the Shinshu Apple by the way:

I realize that the wafers are actually not that crunchy - initially I thought it might be just a packet but every single Kit Kat I tried, regardless of the flavour, had a softer wafer compared to the regular Kit Kats I've tried; even the Dark Chocolate 大人キットカット that I gobbled right after I got back to SG had a crunchier wafer than all the unique flavored ones. In case you don't know which one I'm talking about, it's this one here:

So anyway, I conclude they are all like that (?)

I really liked the Uji Maccha one, probably the best of all I've tried so far! the Maccha tasted rich and nicely blended with the chocolate (:

The Sweet Potato tasted great, though I feel might be an acquired taste for some. It managed to capture the unique aftertaste we get after eating sweet potatoes, which was what that really made me love it.

The Azuki Sandwich had a very strong Azuki taste upon taking my first bite and I thoroughly savored that richness, only realizing that the sandwich taste was actually very mild and overshadowed at the end when I was staring at the wrapper.

Finally, the Wa Ichigo! It was one of the earlier ones I've tried and it tasted like milk chocolate with strawberry bits. I felt that the bits of strawberry in the chocolate made this Kit Kat have more texture in a good way.

Okay that sums up all that I've tried for now. I am off to do my revision alone!

All about Kit Kats from Japan
It has been about 3 months since my Japan trip and as you can see, only part 1 is up so far. I'm having exams in less than 3 weeks so I don't have the time to do up that photo diary.

Anyway, I uploaded the pictures of the Kit Kats I bought about 1 month ago, which meant I actually edited them at the end of Feb and I completely forgotten about them...

So since I haven't posted in a while, I shall just show you guys what I got if you haven't already watched my youtube video.

Before I start, you can visit Kit Kat Japan's Website HERE.

The Small boxes [the ones I got from Kyoto] contains 5 Minis while the bigger boxes contain 12 Minis. I didn't buy any Premium box as each Premium box contains 10 small boxes, each containing 3 Minis [therefore, a total of 30 Minis in 1 Premium Box], which is just way too much. From what I know, there are only 3 Premium Flavours - Sakura Maccha, Uji Maccha and Wa-Ichigo. As for the pricing, I can't be 100% sure since my memory is not the best thing about me but I vaguely recall the price of the box of 5 Minis to be around 380¥, box of 12 Minis at 840¥ and the Premium box at 1600¥.

The places I bought the Kit Kats from does not mean they are the local specialty. You can see which Kit Kat belong to which Prefecture/ area HERE.

Bought From Gifu Prefecture 「岐阜県」

Chilli Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 八幡屋礒五郎一味 」

Shinshu Apple Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 信州りんご」

Blueberry Cheesecake Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ ブルーベリーチーズケーキ味」
Bought from Kyoto Prefecture 「京都府」

Hojicha Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 伊藤久右衛門ほうじ茶」

Uji Maccha Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 伊藤久右衛門抹茶」

Cinnamon Biscuit Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 聖護院八ッ橋」

The rest are from Tokyo Station First Avenue, Shokoku Gotochi Plaza[shop name] 「東京都」
I think it's located at B2? I'm sorry but I can't remember!
Anyway, if you are looking to buy Kit Kats in Japan and you are only heading to Tokyo, you can get most of the flavours available in Japan at this shop.
The ones below are all bought from there, the ones I bought above can also be found there.

Citrus [Lemon, Orange, Lime] Golden Blend Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 柑橘黄金ブレンド 」

Strawberry Cheesecake Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ ストロベリーチーズケーキ味」
Azuki Sandwich Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ あずきサンド味 」

Brown Sugar Syrup Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 榮太樓黒みつ」

Rum and Raisin Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ ラムレーズン」

Sweet Potato Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ 紅いも」

Amaou Strawberry Kit Kat 「キットカット ミニ あまおう苺」

There's another Uji Maccha (as pictured below), which I did not buy because I wasn't sure if there is any difference from the Uji Maccha I bought from Kyoto itself [FYI, Kyoto is famous for Maccha] since they are basically called the exact same thing. Therefore, I decided not to waste my money and buy the Premium box and end up with 30 mini Kit Kats just because I want to satisfy the curiosity of whether there is any difference in taste.

Uji Maccha Kit Kat [from the Premium Box]
Picture from Google Image Search.

I got a box of the Wa-Ichigo and Sakura Maccha from Karmun and another box of Wa-Ichigo again recently from the very lovely person who bought Shiroi Koibito and Tokyo Banana for me when she went to Japan.

Wa-Ichigo Kit Kat 「キットカット 和苺」

Sakura Maccha Kit Kat 「キットカット 桜抹茶」

I only took 1 Wasabi Mini Kit Kat 「キットカット わさび」from Karmun cos I wasn't planning on eating it at all, just for photo purpose.

I do know there are quite a few more flavours of Kit Kats but I'm not sure if Japan still has them or that the shop ran out of stock. Some examples that I didn't get to buy and know of are Yubari Melon Kit Kat, Soy Sauce Kit Kat, Almond Tofu Kit Kat, Edamame Kit Kat, Lectier Pear Kit Kat, Tokyo Skytree Edition Orange Kit Kat. However, the first 3 are not listed on their official website so I'm not quite sure if they are still in production.

In Japan, Kit Kats are really popular. Behind each Mini Kit Kat, there is an area for you to write your message to whoever you are giving it to. This is because in Japan, Kit Kats are given to friends, especially high school students taking their examinations, as a symbol of good luck/ success because in Japanese Kit kat is called "Kitto Katto/キットカット", which sounds close to "Kitto Katsu/キット勝", meaning "Win without fail/ definitely succeed."

Trust Japan to market something like that, yes?

Alrighty, turned out to be a post longer than I expected. I was intending to finish this post in 15 minutes but then I started typing more and more -_-
I have yet to open any of my Kit Kats because I am caught in the dilemma of which to open first. So far, I've only eaten the Wa-Ichigo, which is awesome by the way, since I have 2 mini boxes. I'm looking forward to ripping the boxes soon - that is, if I can even do that.

[Sponsored] Vanity Trove April 2013 - Unveiled!
Ladies, time to 'fess up!
Who loves surprises?
I know I do!

You know you do too, stop lying.

I'm pretty sure many of you out there would have heard of the wonderful boxes that comes with a monthly subscription fee and will pop up right at your doorstep at the same time every month, yes?

Today I am going to share with you one of the very popular beauty box in Singapore - Vanity Trove.

For just SGD $25/ month, you get a box filled with beautiful surprises delivered right to your doorstep.

I personally think that the best part about beauty boxes is the element of surprise. You never know what you will find when you open up the box.
I did a post on Vanity Trove before last year, which was an event they had in conjunction with Philip Wain.
I believe I did mention one of the things I really love about Vanity Trove boxes is the design of the box - so reusable! I have been using the trove I got last year to store my mask!

Photo of the trove from last year's Tangs Beauty Box.
I look so sick because I was... I took these photos immediately after I got home from the event.

Anyway, I think the design of the box is brilliant! I've subscribed to other boxes before in the past but I think that Vanity Trove really understands what women really want - it's not just the surprise, we love the pretty boxes that house the surprises and want to keep them too!
The problem is that we always do that and end up with way too many boxes which sometimes don't fit anywhere or have any use for at all. Oh, the Love hate relationship with boxes - not with Vanity Trove though since it opens up like a drawer, making it really compact and smart to store our things as we can retrieve them without hassle.

So, what is in the April Trove 2013?

Time to unveil the surprise...

Ta-dah! Information about the products inside the Trove! Not teasing you, really. From the product leaflets available, I'm sure you already know what brands to expect in the Trove, right?

Oh yes, Vanity Trove has their very own little booklet!
In it contains many useful information such as:
Product information of items in the Trove

Make up tips from other bloggers

Blogshop blurbs and even vouchers!

Awesome? You betcha'!
Before you get too excited, let me share with you the contents of my Trove!

Just look at the brands and amount of products in there!
I've been hearing a lot of good feedback from friends about the products from Dr. Ci: Labo [Japanese brand too!] and I'm so glad it is inside the Trove! I believe just the products from Dr. Ci: Labo easily exceeds that SGD $25 you paid for, yes?
Well, there's even Elizabeth Arden products inside too!

You are so getting your worth out of the box this month!

How to subscribe?
Well, I believe the cycle of the subscription as well as instructions on how to sign up are all available HERE.
From the looks of it, you won't be able to get this April's edition anymore as the subscription closed in March.
However, looking at how amazing the contents are, I'm sure you will not want to miss May's Trove!
They've teased about it being something to do with Floral Notes...
I know I just got my April Trove but I can't wait to receive my May Trove already!

Head down to Vanity Trove's Website to subscribe now and don't forget to "like" Vanity Trove's Facebook Page!

[Sponsored] Want to know Snow White's beauty secret?
Mirror Mirror on the wall,
Who's the fairest of them all?

I'm sure many girls out there strive to become fairer each day.
I am no exception. I was particularly obsessed with becoming fairer about 2 years ago. Well, I've pretty much stopped caring about a year ago and learnt to embrace my natural skin tone.

Okay, that was a lie. I figured I can only be that fair since both my parents are pretty tanned naturally so I just gave up - I can't possibly fight with genetics!

Anyway, I've always been striving to become fairer only at areas where you can see - in other words, I have only been trying to make my face fairer [I know, I'm superficial, sue me] but neglected all other areas...

I believe if you follow me on any of my social media platform [twitter, instagram or facebook], you would have seen me whining about how my face is lighter than my arms, and that my legs are incredibly tanned because I love to wear shorts [the weather in Singapore is just unbearable.]

Therefore, I've been starting to think about doing something about my tanned legs. Looking at them is just so depressing... Which is why I am thankful for the timely arrival of the New! NIVEA Body UV Whitening Serum with SPF25!

I have been using this product for about 2 weeks faithfully now.
I do notice slight whitening on my hands and a slightly more prominent difference on my legs [because they are just so tanned that any change will be noticed immediately!]

This body serum contains 95% purity Vitamin C! We all know how Vitamin C plays an important role in helping to whitening our skin, yes? Therefore, to have such a high purity content of vitamin C is really

The product is quite viscous, very much like the moisturizers we use on our face. I do realise that my skin feels more moisturized after using this product too.

I will definitely recommend this if you are someone interested in whitening! Don't neglect other areas of your body when you are looking into whitening your skin like me! Now I have so much "work" to catch up with
The result may vary for different people but even if it does not make a whole lot of difference for you, it is still a very good moisturizer in my opinion.
I will surely continue using this as I've seen improvement in my legs' skin tone!

Do go "like" Nivea Singapore's facebook page as they are having regular contest to give away some of their awesome products!

xoxo
