To keep you entertained.
I am sick ):
After getting back from Japan, I am swamped by so many things.
Finally packed all my stuff and settled the spree items as well as friends' items.
so anyway, I regret not buying more Kit Kats but... Kit Kats are really expensive in Japan! those big boxes cost me about SGD 15 dollars each?
The Sakura Matcha, Uji Matcha and Ea-Ichigo only came in premium packs, each box cost about SGD 25 dollars, kinda regret not buying them to add to my this Kit Kat Collection!

oh well, I bought enough stuff anyway!
So much unexpected purchases~
I have a lot of photos to process but I don't think they will be up soon. Firstly, I have to clear my overdue reviews, then it will be time for my Prelims ):
probably after my Prelims, that small frame of 1 week break will hopefully allow me some time to blog about my trip!

Okay, enough nagging. See you in my next post very soon!

「ただ食べ物の為に」Just For Food : Hoshino Coffee Review
Hello lovelies!
I will probably be posting quick short posts as and when I can while I'm in Japan so I thought I will do a proper blog post on my laptop before I head to bed.
Okay, you got me, I am so psyched that I can't sleep.

Nonetheless, works well for all of us, right?

It has been so long since I've blogged about food and one of my resolutions this year is to go into food blogging instead of beauty all the time. Therefore, I present you my first food post of 2013!

I simply have to share this place with you, which by the way, I believe most of you have already heard of:

It's Hoshino Coffee!
While it is not exactly the newest in town, it is considerably new as it just opened recently in Plaza Singapura's new extension, which was unveiled late last year.

This is the first outlet in Singapore and if you can't already tell from the name, it is a franchise from Japan. [Japan website] It is actually also the first outlet outside Japan!

That being said, I had really high expectations because Denise kept raving about how good the pancakes were and all her photos in Facebook were most definitely drool inducing.

While looking through the menu, Ashley & I were having such a hard time deciding what we want because everything looked so good. Then again, menus always have the best pictures and the real product is often different from those in the menu. We decided to each order something different so that we can get to taste a wider variety. Denise took a long time looking for a parking lot in the carpark... Ashley & I were practically staring at other patrons enjoying their food while we waited!

Hungry girl is hungry. Unfortunately, being an amateur, the lighting in Hoshino Coffee proved to be a challenge for me when taking photos.

Anyway, after she finally arrived, we immediately placed our orders! Just a note, if you are planning to order their Soufflé Pancake, do not wait for everyone in your group to arrive before ordering! It takes about 40 minutes for the pancake to be prepared. Also, I noted that the French Toast requires about 15 - 20 minutes. However, the staff only informed us of the waiting time for the Soufflé Pancake but not the French Toast, so perhaps the French Toast can get served with a shorter waiting time.

Since there was going to be a long wait, I decided to have my dessert first.

This is my Matcha Parfait. I have quite a few pictures but they don't really do the taste justice. The soft serve Matcha tasted rich and slightly bitter, which was alright since there was some sweet red bean paste to help offset some of that bitterness.

Between the layer of soft serve Matcha, there' some cornflakes and banana. I think having some ingredient of a different texture really helps make the food more enjoyable for my palate.

See what I mean when I said my pictures don't do justice? *Sigh*

That aside, I will have to say that while this dessert is much better than most matcha desserts here in Singapore, it is still not the best I've tried. I will share with you guys the number 1 Matcha soft serve I've had so far another day but reassure that this is definitely a close second. I will give it 8.75/10!

Next, my Caesar Salad came [I think it was SGD $7.90 or so]

I have to say, I am not too impressed with this though. Tasted pretty mediocre. The chicken strips were kind of... sad; just a few in this bowl. However, a plus point will be that the lettuce was really fresh!

I will say, probably a 7/10 for this. Not too impressive but still tasted like what it's supposed to be and the ingredients were really fresh.

Then came Ashley's Clam Chowder~

Once again, I apologize for the lousy picture. This picture does so much injustice to this soup! I really like it as it didn't taste too heavy or creamy but instead, it tasted quite sweet [I prefer sweet to salty by the way] while maintaining the taste of the clam chowder, which is especially prominent in the aftertaste.

While I do enjoy the sweetness, not everyone will be a fan of sweet tasting soup [I am also quite health concious because I'm getting old...], I will give this a 8.25/10.

Next, Denise's Curry Claypot rice came! [I'm sorry but I didn't take note of the name... so I kinda threw in all the ingredients in the dish and roughly conjured up this name]

This tasted really good! The curry was not hot and after mixing the egg with all the ingredients, it was just a-ma-zing. For someone who does not really like to eat rice, give me the curry and egg to mix it up and I will be sure to clear this off. Also, I'm a huge meat lover and there's meat here as well as my favourite vegetable - broccoli!

I have never eaten anything of similar nature so there's nothing for me to give a reference to, therefore my score for this will be 8.5/10!

Finally, the anticipated Soufflé Pancake arrived!

I wanted to order this but it looked pretty tiny in the picture so I gave it a pass but my, you should have seen how I was stabbing myself mentally when I took my first bite of this - I needed someone to hold me down before I floated all the way up into the sky. With the maple syrup drizzled over the pancake and soft serve vanilla ice cream on top, I took a mouthful which contained the Soufflé pancake as well as soft serve ice cream - it was like orgasm in my mouth. No, really. The cold nature of the ice cream was a stark contrast to the warm Soufflé Pancake, so different yet they complemented each other so well and tasted so good. I am not a fan of flour pastry but this definitely had me saying "I'm so going to come back here just for this" after my first bite. I will say it deserves a 9/10 from me! Reason for the 1 point deduction is because like I previously mentioned, I don't like to eat food with flour as the main ingredient so I don't have anything to compare this to. I will like to think that there is always room for improvement/ a better one out there.

I didn't feel quite satisfied from my Caesar Salad so Denise and I shared a French Toast.

Again, not a fan of bread/ flour [and I wonder why I love noodles so much] but this one tasted almost like a thing on its own. It was really soft and kind of melted in my mouth but at the end of it, I could still taste the "bread" taste [or should I say, the yeast-y taste of bread?] However, this has got to be the best French Toast I've eaten so far. So glad I decided to listen to Denise and give this a try. I will give this a 9/10.

There, I'm done! The awesome girls that went on this little food adventure with me.

My chin is uneven, I know. My wound is still healing VERY slowly :(
My face is bloated, I know that too. That's because I've been so stressed the whole week before my trip that I sleep at 5-7am every day and I snack all the way right after dinner till I sleep. Which explains why I'm breaking out like mad [this trip was before I started the whole crazy breaking out on my face]

Here's the address for Hoshino Coffee.

68 Orchard Road
#03-84
Plaza Singapura
Tel: 63383277

Do note that when they are busy, you have to have all the diners present before you are allowed entry as I believe they want to encourage fast turnover.

Flying off to Osaka soon, SO EXCITED!
I hope I can have the chance to head to Hoshino in either Osaka or Tokyo during my trip!

[Sponsored] Jewelove Hoshino Kana Produce P-3 「 星野加奈プロデュース! ジュエリッチ アイラッシュ P-3」Eyelash Review
It's been so long since I did a lash review, yes?
Well, huge part of 2012 was given to being lazy and going ulzzang and guess what? I resolve to have a balance between both ulzzang and gyaru make up in 2013!

Therefore, I am going to bring you a brand new review to show my resolve.
Introducing Jewelove [known as Jewerich in Japan]

I was provided the Hoshino Kana Produced Jewelove [rebranded from Jewerich for export purposes] in P-3!

I had feedback last year on my lash reviews that instead of just showing my eyes, you guys prefer my whole face to see the overall look so...

I know I look quite stupid with the plaster but my wound is still healing so...
I am going to stick to using my usual visual easy rating for eyelashes because it's so much easier to understand! A close up on the lashes when worn before I go on.

Visual Easy Rating for Jewelove Hoshino Kana Produce P-3 星野加奈プロデュース! ジュエリッチ アイラッシュ P-3:

Volume (8/10) - The volume for this pair is pretty dense, might be because I am back to using lashes and therefore find it quite amazing again to see my lashes being so full. However, it does not make my eyes look heavily piled on.

Length (lash strands) [8/10] - It is pretty long but as you can see, it does not make my eyes look overly dramatic or fake.

Length (lash band) [8/10] - It is pretty long, extends well to the ends of my eyes, which I absolutely love as it gives a lengthening effect for my eyes visually. I find this length to be the perfect length for me.

Ease of Application [8.5/10] - After not using lashes for so long, I did not face any problems in application. In fact, I actually find it easier to apply compared to the earlier versions of Jewerich lashes that I have.

Comfort [8.5/10] - Compared to some of the Jewerich lashes that I've used, I do find this more comfortable.

Reusability [8.5/10] - The lash band feels really strudy, but not rigid. After 2 use, I still find the lash looking as good as brand new so I forsee it going a long way.

Availability [8/10] - Jewelove lashes can be found exclusively in Watsons and we all know how accessible Watsons is by now.

Price [7/10] - Compared to other Japanese eyelashes found in Singapore, I will say that SGD $22.90/ box of 2 pairs is not too steep a price to pay for lashes of this quality. However, I do understand the mindset of many girls [why pay so much if you can get more at the same price], which is why I lowered the rating for this aspect but personally, I always believe quality > quantity.

Repurchase - Maybe. Apart from the obvious reason that I have way too many pairs of eyelashes, there really isn't another reason why I will not repurchase it actually.

  Overall Rating: 8/10

I hope this can inspire girls to try out more styles and mix and match things up yourself to showcase a unique style of yours instead of sticking to "safer" or "lazy" make up!

Don't forget to "like" Jewelove's Facebook Page for latest news and product updates!

[Sponsored] Glomax Aesthetics Intensive Acne Medic Treatment 3 & 4
Hi lovelies!

I'm sorry I haven't been updating you guys about my Glomax visits!
Reason is because my laptop died completely...
So everything that was inside is now hasta la vista ):
Therefore, I lost a whole bunch of photos.
So, I will be updating my current skin situation of 2 visits together in this post.

Firstly, before I go to my skin, let's take a look again at their interior.

Fresh, clean towels.

I like the use of colour white - it really shows how clean things are and that they really maintain them well.

Tray with the products Peishan will be using on me.

So clean that everything reflects off their glossed wardrobe.

Very spacious~

So after my second previous visit here, my skin improved tremendously with the exception of my chin area [I experienced a breakout only at my chin area, not sure why...]

After the 3rd Visit, [I can't remember the exact date that I went, should be around 12th November 2012], this is how my skin looked 1 day after

13th November 2012
^ See how clean my cheeks and nose area are!
The chin still has some huge pimples because they were still quite "undeveloped" when I went so they weren't able to extract them out for me. Peishan did tell me that most likely they will popout in the next week and they actually did the very next day!

16th November 2012
^ By now, most of the chin pimples are gone! Right cheek developed a pimple, probably due to all the stress I'm facing...
As you can see, skin generally remained clear and healing well.

4th Visit was on the 19th December, if my memory did not fail me...
[Sorry, I changed to another iphone so my calendar all got wiped out]
About 3 days after my treatment,
22th December 2012
^ You can see that nose is clear of blackheads.
Chin area generally cleared and still healing, likewise for my right cheek.
Left cheek still have some redness and bumps.

27th December 2012

Sorry I couldn't get a good picture of my nose...
But anyway, you can see that it still remains quite clear.
Left cheek cleared up pretty good, same goes for right cheek and chin [though you can see some light scar marks]

2nd January 2013

Latest photo from 5 days ago!
Nose still remained clear, chin and left & right cheek healed really well, cannot really see much of those marks anymore!

Extremely happy and satisfied!
Every time no matter how lousy I feel about my skin, after the treatment I always get clear skin again!

I'm supposed to go for my 5th visit this coming Wednesday but I think I have to reschedule due to my chin injury...
-_-
Will go for it after my Japan trip and update you guys again.
If you haven't tried Glomax already, it's time to do so!

Here are the details you will need to make an appointment [call early, they are quite busy!]:

Glomax Aesthetics

Soho2@Central
#06-168

Happy New Year!
Happy new year everyone!
I know I'm kind of late in this post but my first new year greeting was...

So.... I got a deep wound on my right below my chin around my jaw.
I can only say... it's damn mother painful.

Even with the alcohol in me, I already felt the pain. once the alcohol wore off, the pain was so excruciating that I couldn't even cry. The staff at Butter factory insisted on calling the Ambulance for me but I strongly refused to. To be honest, I was hoping it will magically heal after my sleep but well, they told me the wound was pretty deep and needed stitches. I was terrified so I avoided at all cost.

C & V tried hailing a cab for me but to no avail (waited over an hour) so I SOSed for my brother who immediately came down to butter to bring me home.
He told me t get cosmetic stitches (I don't even think there is such a thing?!) if possible cos he don't want my face to be ruined and he will bear all the cost, lol.

I stubbornly waited till this morning but there was still discharge from my wound so I had no choice but to go A&E anyway.

so here I am, blogging on my mobile after my dressing. I got a jab too (hate that)... the cleaning process of my wound felt like someone digging at it. It hurts so bad I can't even talk properly or eat solid foods. I think I will probably be eating porridge for the next few days...

Anyhow, I will have to head to poly clinic everyday to get my wound dressing done. So far I've managed to avoid being discovered by my dad but with the dressing on my chin, I don't think I can run anymore, lol.

so that was how I kick started my new year!

how about you? (:

xoxo
