I'm not 100% sure if it has been discontinued but I do advise whose who want it/ procrastinating since forever about it to quickly grab it before it's completely gone from the market.
With that, I will go into the review proper! I had this item for super long but can't seem to do a proper look with it so I
decided to try it out along with this new short hair look and see how it goes.
In case you don't remember...
I've done reviews for every other palette except this!
So here I am, closing up this series with the final palette's verdict.
Product shots for you!
Close Up [True to picture]
I was skeptical about the color combination, being able to pull off for a wearable look or not. While it is not exactly something you can wear to work, it really gives the "country
girl" look.
-Swatch to be inserted here-
The extremely enticing packaging
I'm sure some people don't see themselves using these colours yet buy it anyway.
Like the other 3 palettes, this one also comes with a step by step illustration to teach
you how to use the colours. Not the only way but if you want to stay safe since these are colours not often used, you can follow it!
Don't have to know Japanese to understand it.
Shan't keep you waiting any further!
Dolly Wink Eye Shadow Palette Number 3 in Blue/ Orange [Country Retro]「ドーリーウインクアイシャドウ03ブルーオレンジ」:
Product Weight : Not stated [I suppose 2.5g/ 3g]
Product Ingredients: Talc, Dimethicone, Nylon-12, Isostearic Acid, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Boron Nitride, Palm Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Methylparaben, Tocopherol, (+/-) Iron Oxide, Mica, Titanium Oxide, Silica, Perfluorooctyl Triethoxysilane, Synthetic Phlogopite, Borosilicate (Ca/Al), Tin Oxide, Titanate (Li/Co), Aluminium Hydroxide, Gunjou (?), Red 226, Red 202, Green 404, Yellow 205
Product Type: Matte
Packaging: 8/10 - The black round casing is small and compact, thus easy to bring around and hard to get dirty. I really love the little heart shaped window
on the top lid, allowing the colours to peek out! Simple yet classy. I might have given it a 9.5 or even 10 if a little mirror was included somewhere.
Pigmentation: 7/10 - I think Dolly Wink shadows should be used with an applicator instead of brush because they are a lot more pigmented that way.
When I use the brush, they always come off a lot lighter than what they look. That aside, when I use an applicator, the color gets picked up pretty well and
looks rich. Color payoff is decent in just one swipe. [refer to swatch]
Texture: 8.5/10 - Smooth! The powder packed is really fine and smooth, zero fallouts.
Blendability : 8/10 - It blends easily and nicely. I did not face any problem in blending and ensuring a smooth transition from one colour to another at all!
Lasting Power: 9/10 - I'm not sure how well it will hold up without a primer
though, as I always use a primer when using eye shadows. Primers are
supposed to enchance and keep the color on your lids for long hours so I
guess this rating is pretty much expected.
Availability: 8/10 - While it is being sold in Watsons for a whooping SGD $32.90, I will recommend buying from BlingAlways as they are only selling it for SGD $25.90, an astonishing 21% cheaper than Watsons! All you have to do is just wait for perhaps 2 weeks or so? You save SGD $7 for a palette, that's really a lot!
Price: 8.5/10 - If you are buying from BlingAlways, I will say it's a 8.5/10 but if you are talking about Watsons, I will only give it a 3/10. Personally, I will NOT pay a whooping SGD $32.90 for a palette with just 4 colours. Nope, not even Tsubasa can make me do it. But if you purchase it from BlingAlways for only SGD $25.90, it is totally worth it as many of the other drug store brand palettes also cost around SGD $20 - SGD $25, not to mention this palettes has a much cuter/ to die for packaging!
Repurchase: Yes. It is not very expensive when purchased from BlingAlways, easy to bring around since it's compact, and it's endorsed by Tsu-chan.... *Popteen/ Popsister Model released product sucker* Also, I'm actually
considering to buy 1 to keep as spare since it is probably discontinued!
Overall Rating: 7/10
I HIGHLY recommend Dolly wink lovers x Japan make up lovers x Tsu-chan
lovers to grab this! If you procrastinate any longer, it might be gone forever!
Remember to quote "Love Himeko" when you purchase from BlingAlways to get free local postage!
Volume (6/10) - This pair is an improved version of her previous No. 5 - Real Nude. To be honest, I don't really see any difference except for the last 3 stalks being just a tiny bit denser [by tiny, I really meant that. It's just about 1 stalk of lash (about 2 strands)].
Length (lash strands) [7/10] - It is somewhere mid length, like most of her lower lashes. Honestly, I will say it is exactly the same as Real Nude. Length (lash band) [8/10] - This is the last time you will hear me saying this (or at least until a year or two later when she launches new lashes again) - The length of the band is a perfect fit for my eyes. Ease of Application [9/10] - One try was all it took. Comfort [9.25/10] - Like I said, Dolly Wink lower lashes got to be one of the best I've tried, period. Reusability [6.8/10] - I've used this pair thrice so far and unfortunately, the same thing happened to it like when I used No.5 Real Nude over a year ago; the last stalk towards the tail of the lash came off the lash for the right eye. Knowing how fragile it can be, I was pretty gentle in cleaning it but it still happened ): Pretty upset since I can't get this easily and have to order it and go through a bit of waiting.
Availability [2/10] - This collection was launched back in November 2011, but they did not start shipping/ taking orders to/from other countries until January 2012, which is why I only got mine last week. I am intending to order spares for myself since this collection is hard to get locally so if you are interested (Singaporeans only), you can drop me an email at mizuki.himeko@yahoo.com.sg which pair(s) of lashes from the Otona collection you fancy and quantity. Price [6.8/10] - Compared to other brands out there [e.g diamond lash has 5 pairs in a box at a price even lower than dolly wink, which has just 2 pairs per box] and the fact that the last stalk came off after just 3 use, I am pretty upset and felt that it might just be a tad bit overpriced for the compromised quality on this pair [not sure if it's just this pair and that I am unlucky].
Repurchase - Yes. While there's much odds against this choice, I do love Dolly wink lower lashes as it is versatile and suitable for daily use.
Overall Rating: 8/10 *Yes, I am really irked by the lash falling off just after 3 uses. Should my next pair last longer, I will reassess this review* I'm as amazed as you are, that I actually followed through the whole series and did reviews for them all this fast!
You know, you guys should be less lazy and scroll a little further next time. All the previous Otona lashes reviews have been updated with new pictures that I had taken personally, including clear close up of the lash.
That aside, let's jump in to another review after the 1 day break from them!
Visual Easy Rating for Dolly Wink Otona Style Collection No. 11 - Pure Sweet「ドーリーウインク(オ トナめライン)アイラッシュ No. 11ー ピュアスイー ト」: Volume (6/10) - The first impression of these lashes I got; they look super neat. The volume is not dense but the 2 bunches of lash stalks in 1 section with criss crossed corners and one such stalk to join the sections together, making it look complete.
Length (lash strands) [7.5/10] - It is the longest one of the 3 upper lashes from this collection. Still a slight bit shorter than her first lash collection (No. 1 & No. 2).
Length (lash band) [8/10] - I don't mean to sound like a broken tape recorder but the fact is that her lash band is indeed the same length as her previous dolly wink collection and if you read my past reviews of dolly wink lashes, you will know that the length is just right for my liking.
Ease of Application [9/10] - Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Comfort [9.25/10] - Lightweight, don't feel it weighing my eyelids down. The soft lash band certainly contributes to the comfort department. Reusability [8.5/10] - After 3 uses, it still looks as good as new. The picture above was taken after I cleaned it after the 3 uses. I suppose the pretty neat lash design makes the cleaning a little easier than the other 2 pairs from the Otona range. I can see this pair lasting pretty long. Availability [2/10] - This collection was launched back in November 2011, but they did not start shipping/ taking orders to/from other countries until January 2012, which is why I only got mine last week. I do want to purchase more spares for myself due to it's unavailability here in Singapore so if you are interested, do drop me an email at mizuki.himeko@yahoo.com.sg stating which pairs you want and quantity. Price [7/10] - Compared to other brands out there [e.g diamond lash has 5 pairs in a box at a price even lower than dolly wink, which has just 2 pairs per box], it is definitely not a happy price. I do love this design a lot as it is one of the pair where it comes off really natural. Overall Rating: 9/10 *I really really like this a lot more than I thought I will! When I first saw it, I was like "hmm..." but after putting it on, I really loved the effect and how natural it looked! To make things even better, it is easy to clean! ^^ I'm actually wearing this pair in the photo at the end of this entry.*
Say I'm awesome! I've realised that before this wave of Otona reviews, my last review was way back last November! That's about 3 months ago! Gosh, I'm such a slacker. I remember I wanted to be a "lash" review-er, thus my obsession with lashes started and as you all know... I have so much that I bought and haven't even tried on [some of which I bought at least 1 year ago...] Okay, digressing too far!
Visual Easy Rating for Dolly Wink Otona Style Collection No. 13 - Baby Girl「ドーリーウインク(オ トナめライン)アイラッシュ No. 13ー ベイビーガール ー」: Volume (6.75/10) - Thin stalks, thick stalks, thin stalks. I like the interchanging volume of lash stalks which makes it pretty balanced and look much more natural. Thumbs up to that! Most lashes are either thin stalks all the way or thicker stalks towards the tail.
Length (lash strands) [7/10] - It is somewhere mid-long, just right in my opinion; maintained the natural lash style while still being able to be used for slightly louder looks. Length (lash band) [8/10] - Again, same length as her previous dolly wink bottom lashes and well, lucky me, it fits my lower lids perfectly :3 Ease of Application [9/10] - Once I put it on, I'm ready to leave the house. No re-adjustments needed. Comfort [9.5/10] - It is barely there, almost non existent. [However, to give benefit to other brands of lower lashes, most lower lashes are small, light and short enough to give the same comfort] Reusability [8.5/10] - So far, I've used it just once and I was able to clean the lash with much ease. I do take extra care in cleaning bottom lashes because most of the time, for upper lashes, you can still wear them if a stalk or so is missing from the lash but in case of lower lashes, it is very obvious when a stalk is missing.
Availability [2/10] - This collection was launched back in November 2011, but they did not start shipping/ taking orders to/from other countries until January 2012, which is why I only got mine last week. I am not doing pre-order for it any more as it is pretty tough to hit the supplier demands for this [need 40 orders] or else I will have to raise my selling price of the lashes as the price will be much higher should I not hit their minimum request. Price [7.25/10] - Compared to other brands out there [e.g diamond lash has 5 pairs in a box at a price even lower than dolly wink, which has just 2 pairs per box], it is definitely not a happy price. However, I do love the quality of the dolly wink lashes so I am willing to pay for them [and for collection purposes] This rating was given after taking into consideration that while I am willing to pay, there are many others who might feel it is not worth it. I do feel that dolly wink bottom lashes are a MUST-HAVE for every gyaru, be it collection or for wearing. An extra point for the unique design of this pair of bottom lashes. Repurchase - Yes. 70% for using it and 30% for collection sake. Looks normal and boring but very versatile [besides, being normal is actually weird when it comes to these Japan lashes, don't you think?]
Overall Rating: 8.75/10 *As you might have realised, pretty high rating again. This is because of how versatile I see this pair of lashes, not because of Tsubasa!
Visual Easy Rating for Dolly Wink Otona Style Collection No. 10 - Sweet Cat「ドーリーウインク(オ トナめライン)アイラッシュ No. 10ースイートキャ ット」: Volume (7.5/10) - The lashes are criss crossed and gradually straightens towards the tail of the lash. Since the front is shorter [lash strand], it does not make the lash look too dense, only towards the tail does it look dense.
Length (lash strands) [7/10] - I was procrastinating between 6.5 and 7 but settled for 7 to be fair to the longer strands from the middle towards the tail. Length (lash band) [8/10] - Once again, love the length as she kept it unchanged [I believe all her upper lashes have lash bands this long] meaning it fits my eyes perfectly while giving the illusion of my eyes being wider. Ease of Application [8.75/10] - While it still is very easy to apply, it fell short just a tad bit, I had to spent an extra 3 [or so] seconds in adjusting the inner corner. Definitely not something you should make a bit hoo-ha over but I thought I should still mention it. Comfort [9.25/10] - As I've said before, Dolly Wink lashes remains as one of the top lashes I've used thus far in terms of comfort. Reusability [7.25/10] -
I've used this pair thrice so far and while I do not see any signs of it falling apart any time soon, I have to say the cleaning process is slightly more tedious and thus I foresee some girls cutting slack in the cleaning process or being overly concerned about cleanliness and thus exerting too much pressure on it, damaging it. Due to the design of the lash stalks (?) being pretty tight on the lash band and the criss cross pattern, glue bits might get stuck, be extremely stubborn and thus hard to remove. Extra patience needed when you handle this pair! Price [6.5/10] - Compared to other brands out there [e.g diamond lash has 5 pairs in a box at a price even lower than dolly wink, which has just 2 pairs per box], it is definitely not a happy price. However, I do love the quality of the dolly wink lashes so I am willing to pay for them [and for collection purposes] This rating was given after taking into consideration that while I am willing to pay, there are many others who might feel it is not worth it. I did notice that the general design of this lash is similar to Diamond lash's light pink tray's DL51593 Girly [Review here] which is why I gave this aspect a lower rating.
Repurchase - Yes. I will say, 60% for using it and 40% for collection sake. Not because I don't love this pair, but because I have too much eyelashes to choose from. Overall Rating: 8/10 *I think that her whole (new) collection is made for natural looking eye make up which is why this pair does not look too outrageous when worn. That being said, I do see the possibility of it being used with, say Dolly Wink pink/gray palette, and still able to rock the look* While you are reading this... I'm probably on the way to Singapore! I will changed the pictures once I've taken them when I'm back in Singapore :3
I'm being productive, yay! I did not take pictures personally this time, shall try to do that when I get home and replace these official ones so you get a more "real" (?) experience. I'm still in Malaysia and the boxes are back home in Singapore~ I know some people might be skeptical about studio taken and released pictures.
Volume (6.5/10) - The lashes are uniquely and boldly criss crossed, definitely not impressive volume but gives off an effect that it is denser than what it really is! Not a design I've seen before in other brands [Diamond lash does have a similar one released before dolly wink otona but that one is a tad bit denser than this. Length (lash strands) [7.5/10] - It is pretty long [probably the longest from Tsubasa's eyelashes lines thus far] but it is not overwhelming thanks to the criss cross design which made the sparse lashes look dense. I'm pretty sure if a few more criss crossed sections were added, it will look much more intense. Length (lash band) [8/10] - It is pretty much the same length as her previous dolly wink bottom lashes and luckily for me, it fits my lower lids perfectly. Ease of Application [9/10] - This new line definitely reiterates the point for superb ease of application. I always gets it right with one try, even for bottom lashes :3 Comfort [9.25/10] - It is barely there, really. No instances of it poking my eyes, whatsoever. Dolly Wink lower lashes got to be one of the best I've tried! Reusability [7.5/10] - As I have only used this pair twice [I had just gotten mine last week] I cannot really tell how long before it wears off. Just note that the usual applies; do be gentle when cleaning your lashes [I soak them in tap water for about 3-5 minutes then I will peel the glue bits off] and so far my pair still looks as good as new after 2 washes. I do have to emphasize that I am EXTREMELY gentle when cleaning these babies as it is really difficult for me to repurchase them and I don't want to have a few stalks missing this early into using them! However, I do love the quality of the dolly wink lashes so I am willing to pay for them [and for collection purposes] This rating was given after taking into consideration that while I am willing to pay, there are many others who might feel it is not worth it. But really, dolly wink bottom lashes is a MUST-HAVE for every gyaru.
Repurchase - Yes. This pair is really unique and I really loved wearing it! Overall Rating: 8.75/10 *I was SO tempted to give it a 9 due to the comfort level, unique lash design which does not make it unwearable with natural make up but I think the unavailability here in Singapore is a major setback for many. This pair of lashes is very versatile, be it natural or darker eye makeup, go ahead and explore! I am definitely on a roll roll roll!
Visual Easy Rating for Dolly Wink Otona Style Collection No. 09 - Natural Dolly「ドーリーウインク(オ トナめライン)アイラッシュ No. 9ーナチュラルドーリ ー」: Volume (7/10) - The lashes are criss-crossed, so although it is not exactly really dense, it gives off an effect denser than what it really is.
Length (lash strands) [7/10] - Much shorter than Tsubasa's first line of eyelashes. Like what she mentioned, she is trying to graduate from the cutesy style and go for a more womanly image.
Length (lash band) [8/10] - Despite the lash strands and volume being shorter and less dense respectively, the lash band still remained long, much to my delight. I love to have longer lash bands that extend out towards the tail of my eyes to give them the effect of being longer.
Ease of Application [9/10] - This new line definitely reiterates the point for superb ease of application. I always gets it right with one try.
Comfort [9.25/10] - It is barely there, really. No instances of it poking my eyes, whatsoever.

Repurchase - Yes. I will say, 60% for using it and 40% for collection sake. Not because I don't love this pair, but because I have too much eyelashes to choose from.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10 *I was hesitating between a 8.5 and 9 and decided on 8.5. The comfort aspect is really important for me but I had to take into consideration the fact that it is not easily available outside Japan at all and the price compared to competitors' brands. Looks like I've kinda changed my style of grading, eh? This eyelash is very suitable for natural look!* Well, as promised on my facebook page ^^ I know a lot of people are dying to see reviews of this collection and I thought this should be my priority once I receive them! [Afterall, I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time before Watsons bring them into Singapore] xoxo
Packaging: 8/10 - The black round casing is small and compact, thus easy to bring around and hard to get dirty. I really love the little heart shaped window
on the top lid, allowing the colours to peek out! Simple yet classy.
Pigmentation: 7.5/10 - I find myself swiping my brush on the shadows a little harder to pick up the shadow for application, probably due to experience from the previous 2 palettes and I find the colours going on the brush pretty well. Using brush/ sponge, the color payoff was amazing *pictured above*
1 swipe was all it took to achieve the color intensity shown in the picture
above.
Texture: 8.5/10 - Smooth! The powder packed is really fine and smooth, did not experience fallouts at all!.
Blendability : 9.5/10 - It blends easily and nicely. I did not face any problem in blending and ensuring a smooth transition from one colour to another at all! On top of that, the colours are SO EASY to match/ play with!
Lasting Power: 9/10- I'm not sure how it will fare without a primer cos I always use a primer prior to applying powder eye shadow. Lasted over 10
hours without budging.
Personally, I will
NOT pay a whooping SGD $32.90 for a palette with just 4 colours. Nope, not
even Tsubasa can make me do it. But if you purchase it from BlingAlways for
only SGD $25.90, it is totally worth it as many of the other drug store brand palettes also cost around SGD $20 - SGD $25, not to mention this palettes
has a much cuter/ to die for packaging!
Repurchase: Yes. It is not very expensive when purchased from BlingAlways, easy to bring around since it's compact, neutrals is something everyone
definitely MUST have so yes yes and YES!
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
This was the palette that caught my eyes when she came out with the
collection but I didn't plan on getting it because I have so many huge brown
palettes at home.
However, I then realised that because of that mindset, I don't have any brown
palettes that I can actually bring around with me ^^;; Thus this was a GREAT
choice (:

Pigmentation: 7.5/10 - I do find this slightly more pigmented as compared to
the Monotone Mode one. Not sure if it has to do with my technique or
something though. Using both brush/ sponge, the color payoff was great. 1 swipe was all it took to achieve the color intensity shown in the picture

This was the palette that caught my eyes when she came out with the
collection; LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT :3
Besides, green eye shadow has been a hot choice of color this year. Stay in trend!
Be a little more adventurous and you might love it (:
